Father Bikes Cross Country for a Cure
A Florida man is biking across the country for a good cause. Find out why he made a stop in the ARK-LA-TEX to spread his special message. He`s traveled 35 days and cycled more than 2000 miles. Glenn Fenster is on a cross country journey from Seattle to Miami.
"I’ve had flat tires, monsoon rains, winds that have knocked me over. But I keep getting up." said Fenster.
He`s making the more than 3800 mile trek in an effort to raise awareness for the fight against epilepsy, a cause that is close to his heart.
"The journey`s been difficult, but this trip pales in comparison to the courage my son and other children show everyday of their lives. They never know when a seizure is going to occur." said Fenster.
Glenn says his 12-year-old son has been battling epilepsy most of his life. He hopes his journey will not only raise awareness, but will also inspire doctors to keep working toward a cure.
"So they keep finding the strength within themselves to find new medicines to eradacate this terrible disease." said Fenster.
After a brief stop in Shreveport, Glenn is strapping up and heading back on the road,
hoping his quest will lead to a cure. Fenster hopes to make it home in time to spend Father`s Day with his son.
