Bicyclist Brings Attention To Seizure Disorders

He's a man on a mission, riding his bicycle from one corner of the country to another.
Glen Fenster is bicycling from Seattle to Miami. His goal is to raise awareness and funds to find a cure for seizure disorders. Fenster's 12-year-old son has epilepsy. He says 2.5 million families in America are affected by epilepsy and similar disorders.
"I am not in a rush against time, I'm in a rush to find a cure. And this trip pales in comparison to the courage every child in America shows every day when they have seizure disorder," said Fenster, during a brief stopover in Gulfport.
He's averaging about 100 miles a day on his bicycle. His goal is to arrive in Miami for Father's Day weekend.
Fenster has launched a foundation called Destiny Makers.
He says his son has had epilepsy since age two. The Miami man says he launched the ride in part to show his son that any challenge can be overcome with courage and determination.
Fenster says support for his ride has been "incredible." He says in a country divided by racial issues and things like immigration reform, his story has attracted loads of positive attention from many different people.
He's tan and fit from his journey so far. Fenster admits he "nearly died" while biking through the mountains at an altitude of more than 9,000 feet.
